What We Offer

From the moment you arrive, Lone Tree Reservation will sweep away the outside world, as you are immersed in the natural beauty of our 120+ acres on Country Pond - but Lone Tree is not a typical 'camp ground:' As a New Hampshire state registered Skills Camp, we offer youth and adult personal development of life skills, through the outdoor experience. Stewarding the 75+ year Lone Tree legacy, we offer a variety of program areas from which to choose. Centered around the core teaching vehicle of camping, a typical program may include Camping 101, Leave no Trace, Sheltering, First Aid, Fire Building, Cooking, and Nature Craft. Additional program options include Water Sports such as swimming from our sandy beach, boating & fishing, Shooting Sports like archery, bb guns & axe throwing, as well as Sports activities, all which can be instrumental in fostering self-confidence, achievement, and are just what the doctor ordered to soothe the soul as you unplug, unwind, and reconnect.

***THIS IS NOT A DROP-OFF CAMP! Parental/guardian supervision is required to take sole responsibility for their guests.

Lone Tree Summer Camp is a down-to-earth, youth development organization, vested in

“Building the leader of tomorrow, today!”

As former scout leaders and Eagle Scouts, the Towne family has first-hand experience in the benefits of leading youth in personal development and improvement – and the former Boys Scout camp of Lone Tree is the BEST place to do it. Our mission is to foster character, confidence, self-reliance, skills, and work ethic, benefitting all through mentoring youth AND adults in life skills, through the outdoor experience.

THIS IS NOT A ‘DROP-OFF’ CAMP!

Youth are invited to attend day or overnight camp with their appropriate parental/guardian supervision, who take sole responsibility for their care and well-being. This is specifically designed to support the family dynamic and multiply the benefits of involvement. Adults without youth attendants are welcome to attend camp to better their personal youth development abilities for future youth mentorship opportunities. The youth of the world need all of us - now!

Program areas are ever evolving and under development, so if you have an idea of what we should offer, please share it.

Many group program areas are flexible, with additional private instruction available. As a ‘skills camp,’ it is intended to be an immersive experience of growth and improvement. To satisfy the state of New Hampshire’s program goal of 8+ hours of instruction over 3+ days, a minimum stay of two nights is recommended.

Lone Tree provides clean bathrooms, hot showers, potable water, and waterfront, sports, and shooting equipment, but does not provide food, tents or personal items. Individual and group campsites are available, as well as 6-14 person bunkhouses and cabins, a single-family home (6 person) - even a two-story fort which sleeps 12!

Whether you come for the day, night, or week you will leave a better person!

Camping in the Woods

General Overview

Lone Tree Reservation is a rustic Skills Camp: few sites have individual water or electricity (yet), but nearby latrines, bath houses & other locations offer one or both, so you won't be too inconvenienced. Harking back to the nostalgic,  down-to-earth camping of my youth in the mid '70's, we do NOT offer seasonal sites, and are not interested in bursting 'parking lots' of behemoth RV's. WE DO NOT HAVE RV SITES, PER TOWN RESTRICTIONS. We are preserving the 75+ year legacy of this former Boy Scout camp for groups of all sizes to enjoy the down-to-earth 'summer camp' experience & tradition to cherish for a life time.

Sites are classified in several ways: "Premium" campsites offer pull-through convenience, so if you're new to handling your pop-up camper, it's easy in, easy out. "Standard" campsites would require you to back in your pop-up camper if you bring one.

Sites are rented on a per-night basis, including two people and 1 tent, pop-up or 'Adirondack' structure. Additional guests or pets are $10 each. This is most cost-effective for you. Additionally, you may have multiple tents (total: 3) per site at an additional $20 each, just let us know at booking how many tents you may bring, so we can confirm the site will accommodate that volume - cheaper than being required to book multiple sites! We also offer larger group sites with more ammenities, depending on your wants and needs.

Group sites & cabins offer even greater volume flexibility, with 6-14 guests INCLUDED in the base price. Certainly just ask about adding extra tents to a group site or cabin rental, too - whatever you need we are here to accommodate!

As a new endeavor, there is tons to do, and we are working day and night to fulfill our vision of what a traditional skills camp experience should be. If you don't see something you want, PLEASE just call to chat and we will fill you in on what we can do to satisfy your every need.

Recreation areas & camp store are a work in progress, but things are changing everyday so come join the lake-front fun with family & friends. "Welcome Home!"

Our Story

Years of fond memories visiting Lone Tree Reservation with my children made this a dream-come-true when the opportunity arose for them to take over the former scout camp. Our goal is to share this experience with you and your group, while developing further enrichment programs of youth development, "Building the Leaders of Tomorrow, Today."
